How do you explain a Minnesota raised, cattle chasing,
four-wheel riding, garden growing, berry picking,
country loving family of five choosing the crime
filled, people milling, pollution creating, block
crumbling city of Odessa, Ukraine? God
changes hearts.
God used five short term mission trips to
Odessa, Ukraine, among many things, to change our
hearts. He gave us a passion to reach the people
of this city, people who have little hope in life
because they have little knowledge of God. How
could they know God? He was essentially "illegal" for
80 years under communism.
Mark and Kim Huffman have joined the staff of International
Messengers (IM) as missionaries in Odessa, Ukraine.
Mark was a pastor at Fellowship Bible Church of Pierz,
Minnesota. Kim was a former school teacher and then
was a homemaker and children's programs director
in our church. Chris, Ben and Nate are active, athletic
and excellent students.
God is causing great change in Ukraine. We expect
and pray that He is overthrowing
the criminal governments that have ruled this area for 700 years. However,
we have identified with IM that there is a critical
need in Ukraine for Godly leaders. We plan to help train
Godly leaders, by working with the current
IM staff, serving, pastoring, mentoring, training
and whatever else God would have us do both in the
church in Odessa and at the International Missions
Mentoring school which IM established to train future
church leaders and missionaries from all across Ukraine
and Eastern Europe. God is sending
us, are you willing to help? We need your prayer and financial help.
We would love to visit with your church about how we
can partner in this work. If that will not work out,
we would love for you, personally, to support us, not
only financially, but certainly with your prayers.
We need regular, monthly supporters for our living
and ministry expenses, as well as those who can only
give a one time gift, to help us cover some of the
expenses of moving a family to Ukraine. Please let
